One of the best loved and most respected actors in the Philippines passed away after a long battle of cancer. Rudy Fenandez also known as "Daboy" to his friends and loved ones passed away on Jun 7,2008. Much have been said and written about him being a great friend, a good family man, his strong to will live and all those good things about him.  When I read the  headlines, "Rudy Fernandez Lost his Battle for Cancer." It makes me wonder, if he really lost the battle... Tons of questions  are running through my mind but one thing I'm certain, God is in control and even during adverse or "bad times" -- knowing that God is up for something good. (Romans 8:28)

The Bible says "This is what the Lord says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's...You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance of the Lord will give you...Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.' "  We have all "vast army" to face,  Rudy had to face cancer. I believe he fought a good fight of faith. He might have lost his battle physically  but the real victory comes from the Lord... I love what Jesus said, "In this world you will have trouble. But take a heart! I have overcome the world"   Please note: Jesus said "...you WILL have trouble...He did'nt say, "...you MAY have trouble..."

Another molten hot news for all "Idol" fans. The latest American Idol champ, David Cook "Cookie", officially has a record deal, signing to 19 Recordings/RCA Records, and will be soon laying down tracks for a debut album due this fall. Idol runner up, David Archuleta “Archie”,  the 17-year-old teen "idol" sensation from Utah inked a record deal and is expected to cut his debut album this winter. Just can't wait...

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Popular "American Idol" runner-up David Archuleta has signed a record deal and is expected to release an album later this year, his new producers at 19 Recordings/Jive Records said on Thursday.

With a record deal in hand, 17-year-old crooner Archuleta joins past "Idol" also-rans such as Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson and Clay Aiken who have leveraged their stardom on hit television show "Idol" into record, film and Broadway fame.

This season Archuleta was widely expected to win the No. 1-rated TV talent show, but he lost to rival David Cook on the program's final episode in May by 12 million votes.

"Signing a record contract with 19 Recordings/Jive Records is truly a dream come true," Archuleta said in a statement. "Being a fan of 'American Idol' since season one and admiring the alumni, I am honored and humbled to be a part of that group. I'm really excited to start working on everything."

Simon Fuller, creator of the popular singing competition series and chief executive and founder of 19 Entertainment Label Group, added: "It was fascinating to watch David's journey through 'Idol.' He is a genuine pop star, and is a gifted singer who instantly won over a huge audience when he first appeared on the show. Since then, he has dealt with the pressure and the high level of expectation with real fortitude; he's given us some of the best performances of the season. Without question David Archuleta has a great future ahead of him.

Daughtry, Hudson and Aiken all lost in past seasons, too.

Daughtry currently has a hit album. Hudson won a supporting actress Oscar for her role in movie musical "Dreamgirls," and Aiken has appeared on Broadway in "Spamalot," among his various credits since "Idol."

The show averaged about 27 million viewers a week this season.

LOS ANGELES, CA (CNS) - David Cook, this year's winner of "American Idol," has signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/RCA Records. His album will be released in the fall of 2008.

Cook had a great week following his "Idol" win, including watching his first single, "The Time Of My Life," skyrocket to number one on iTunes.

Cook hopes his album will do as well as the single. According to Tom Corson, Executive Vice President and General Manager of RCA Music Group, he believes, "David Cook is an extraordinarily versatile and talented artist with an impressive sense of musicality. He is a natural performer and a true star. We are thrilled to welcome him to our family."

Cook will begin recording his album while on the road with the "American Idol" summer tour which will feature the top 10 finalists from the seventh season. The tour begins July 1 in Glendale, Arizona.

Melanie bagged the bronze in floor exercise in the recent Northern California Level 7 State Meet. She needs to be in level 10 to compete in the Nationals. Congratulations Melanie!

Melanie competed with 15 other girls from different gymnastic schools in Northern Califonia held at Rocklin, California. Congratulations Melanie for bagging the silver medal in uneven bars!

My cousin Wilson and I saw Bb Pilipinas candidate # 15 and some other candidates at the lobby of Sofitel. When asked if we can have pictures taken with her, she gladly obliged. Little that I know that few days after, she would be the butt of jokes by people and probably the most maligned person  in print media, television and most specially in you tube today.

When I saw the Q&A portion, i really feel for her because i could hear the jeering of the crowd. I admire her though for not giving up and by trying to come up with satisfactory answer despite her inability to express herself in english effectively. It was a brave thing to do to laugh about it on stage in the midst of the booes and jeers.  In my opinion she displayed courage more than any other girls that night.

Is she undeserving? Yes! She doesn't deserve all the persecution, the ridicule, the insults  that are being hurled against her left and right. The Bible says, "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit." I choose to speak life over her situation. God is a turn around specialist and i believe that he will turn it around for good. I choose to speak blessing for her and her family.

Janina,  Let love and faithfulness never leave you...Then you will win favor and good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him an he will make your path straight. Remember this, You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength.
